What is the LEF / LDE / LLE?

Hello. I am Layout Engineer.

And now doing study for DRC, LVS, DFMC and etc.

But now new 3 jobs LEF / LDE / LLE..

1. What is the LEF?

I think that is Library Exchange Format. For GDS / OAS format to ASCII format.

But some people LEF is Layout abstract for top-level connectivity..

What is different?

2.What is LDE?

Use LDE_CHECK. (CDM_CHECK, GDS_CHECK, etc)

What is fuul spelling LDE?

3.What is LLE?

I think that is Local Layout Effect. and result is STI and WPE option.

Thanks for reading. My English is bad.. sry.. but if you help me I really happy today! XD

Well, in a layout context (and a little light googling would show you this - just for interest I searched for "LEF layout", "LDE layout" and "LLE layout" and there's clear explanations.

    1. LEF is indeed the Library Exchange Format, often used to transfer representations of layout to physical implementation tools. It's not normally used to represent entire layout, but often to represent technology data and abstract representations (including pins, blockages etc) which are useful in place and route tools - they don't then need to deal with the complexity of the full layout within a cell/block
    2. Layout Dependent Effects - this includes effects such as LOD (length-of-diffusion), STI (Shallow Trench Isolation), WPE (well proximity effect) and other effects where the behaviour of a device is dependent upon the layout in the proximity of the device - stress, etch and other related effects
    3. Local Layout Effects - I was less familiar with this one, but as far as I can see it's just another term for LDE - it has the same meaning in the various literature I found.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

If your questions are about something else, it's best to start a new post (as the forum guidelines suggest), as it makes it easier for others to find relevant topics later without having to wade through a long thread covering different topics. Hopefully one of the community at large can answer (including me!)

    Andrew.

Well, first read the forum guidelines because you've managed to break numerous of the guidelines. Posting on a 10 year old thread which is unrelated to your issue, and then posting the same question in more than one old thread is the main issue.

Please start a new thread with sufficient information (you've given virtually nothing).

    Andrew.
