Previously defined parameter error

Hello,

It is telling me to edit the netlist file and set the value of redefinedparms to ignore.

When I do in ADEXL netlist > there are three options create, recreate, and display. How do I manually place the mentioned definition?

ERROR (SFE-59): "/grps/ef-test/TSMC180MSRF/MSRF_PDK/models/spectre/cr018gpii_v1d1.scs" 5879: Parameter `rnoiseflag_res_rpo_rf' was previously defined. To allow duplicate parameter definitions, set the value of `redefinedparams' to 'ignore' or 'warning' in the netlist.
ERROR (SFE-59): "/grps/ef-test/TSMC180MSRF/MSRF_PDK/models/spectre/cr018gpii_v1d1.scs" 5883: Parameter `rnoiseflag_res_hri_rf' was previously defined. To allow duplicate parameter definitions, set the value of `redefinedparams' to 'ignore' or 'warning' in the netlist.

Thank you so much for your help regarding this issue.

There's no need to edit the netlist.

First check that you haven't accidentally included the same model file and section twice (in Setup->Model Libraries in ADE), or that you've included conflicting model sections (e.g the tt and ff corners or similar at the same time).

Assuming it's not that and you're happy that there isn't really a conflict, it may just be that the foundry has defined the same parameter in more than one place. You can then just go to Simulation->Options->Analog, find the Check tab, and then set redefinedparams to warning.

    Hello Andrew,

Thank you so much for your prompt response.

I did the change as you told me that error seems to go away but it is giving me another error as shown here:

ERROR (SFE-1996): "/grps/ef-test/TSMC180MSRF/MSRF_PDK/models/spectre/cr018gpii_v1d1.scs" 24306: Parameter `noicn': Cannot run the simulation because an unknown parameter `par1fn_mc' has been specified in expression `c3fn*2.718**((noiseflagn_mc*par1fn_mc+(1-noiseflagn_mc)*noiseflagn)*arearation)'. Correct the expression and rerun the simulation.

ERROR (SFE-1996): "/grps/ef-test/TSMC180MSRF/MSRF_PDK/models/spectre/cr018gpii_v1d1.scs" 24304: Parameter `noian': Cannot run the simulation because an unknown parameter `par1fn_mc' has been specified in expression `c1fn*2.718**((noiseflagn_mc*par1fn_mc+(1-noiseflagn_mc)*noiseflagn)*arearation)'. Correct the expression and rerun the simulation.

ERROR (SFE-1996): "/grps/ef-test/TSMC180MSRF/MSRF_PDK/models/spectre/cr018gpii_v1d1.scs" 24305: Parameter `noibn': Cannot run the simulation because an unknown parameter `par1fn_mc' has been specified in expression `c2fn*2.718**((noiseflagn_mc*par1fn_mc+(1-noiseflagn_mc)*noiseflagn)*arearation)'. Correct the expression and rerun the simulation.

I went and looked inside the model file and found the three mentioned parameters. I even tried commenting these and still not working.

Thank you so much for all your help.

I’m not sure commenting it out from the models is a wise idea - you’d probably be destroying the integrity of the models and any results you get would be debatable.

Most likely there’s a file or section that defines par1fn_mc and you’re not including that. Check with the PDK documentation and if that doesn’t clear it up, contact the foundry to find out what you’re expected to include.

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Hello Andrew,

I figured it out. Thanks for guiding me to the correct path. I uncommented back the sections and It was a missing a noise section.

    Thanks a lot.
