Update wont pick up changes

Hello,

In Virtuoso Layout GXL, when updating instances, nets, or ports in Virtuoso Layout XL (this is for layout generated all from source), the changes will not take effect in the layout GXL view. 

The steps are as follows:

From the connectivity menu, > Update > the update components and nets option comes up, then I check update nets and instance name mismatches, update instance masters

I am using cadence virtuoso 6.1.8-500-64b.500.9

What am I doing wrong?

    UCN (Update Components and Nets) should work regardless of whether you use layoutXL or GXL modes. Would you please let us know if there are any warnings/errors in the CIW when you performed UCN?
