Can't edit instances

Hello,

I am not able to edit instances such as transistors. I have never encountered such as thing before.

It is a 7nm Arizona State University 7nm Finet Predictive PDK

My virtuoso version is:
Version IC6.1.8-64b.500.9
Spectre spectre191

When instantiating a transistor, all I see is the attached image and it is not editable.

Almost certainly this just means that in the PDK they've only allowed the number of fins to be edited. This is a function of the PDK, not the software version you're using. You should contact Arizona State (or maybe documentation that they provide) for more details.

I can't download the PDK because it appears to only be available for those with an email address from an academic institution.

It's quite usual for FInFET transistors to only offer a limited set of lengths (and width is not normally a parameter), so it doesn't entirely surprise me that you can only change the number of fins. This does look quite a simplified device anyway (as you can see by the minimal set of parameters).

    Andrew.
