1 dB compression point cannot be get when using montecarlo in ADE XL

Hello all

I am now simulating a PA, and want to find how seriously the PA is influenced by process variations. I run pss to find it's 1 dB

compression point in ADE L. And when I using montecarlo in ADE XL to find the performance variation, I can not get the result of the expression.

Since the expression is checked in ADE L, it should be correct. I checked the log file, pss simulation is executed, But there is no scalar output. can

anyone give me some advice?

Thanks

    Went,

Which version of the IC tools are you using (what does Help->About show - please give the full sub-version number)? Also, which simulator version are you using (from the spectre log file).

Please show the expression. you're using too.

    Thanks,

    Andrew.

    Andrew

Thanks. The version of IC is IC6.1.7-64b.500.2, the version of spectre is 18.1.0.077, and the expression is [ compressionVRI((v("/net027" ?result "pss_fd") - 0.0) '1 ?rport resultParam("PORT1:r" ?result "pss_fd") ?gcomp 1) ]. The expression is enclosed by square brackets.

Took some time to narrow down (sorry, I didn't have time to play with this before). It's an issue with the spectre version you're using. If you use a slightly later hot fix of 18.1 18.1.0.287.isr4 then it works.

I wasn't able to find a workaround with the spectre version you have - but switching spectre versions to something more recent should be relatively painless.

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew

Thanks for your reply. I escaped from this problem for some days. I will try to update my spectre to find if this problem is solved.

    thank you
