Spectre/APS: how to save only subckt and some level below it

I think this might be an old topic, but I just could not locate some of them.

My question

1> How to save all voltage signals from a certain block and its sub levels? For example, we have a fullchip and subblock called buck_core. I would like to save all the voltage signals on buck_core level and its 3 level down.
2> How to save port current signals from a certain block and its sub levels?  Device current is optional to save.

Thank you.

I'm having to make some assumptions here, because you didn't give any indication of the tool versions you're using, or whether you want to do this from ADE or from a spectre netlist. That's even assuming that it's spectre you're using here, since you didn't say.

Anyway, in current versions, in ADE, you can use Outputs->Save All and then on the form there's a "Save by Subckt" tab:

You can then choose to save the voltages within that instance, the currents too - and next to the checkmark you can also set the hierarchy depth to save to.

I think it was during IC617 that this changed to be on the Save Options form; prior to that it was under the Outputs->To be saved->Select by subckt inst menu (or something like that; I didn't check back since I wasn't going to spend too much time on a guess that this was the info you needed).

If you're using a really, really old version, then this would need to be done by including a spectre include file, with a save statement, but let's cross that bridge if this turns out not to help if you're using ancient versions.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
