Spectre RF option License

Hi,

Our department has recently updated our Virtuoso to ICADVM20 from ICADVM18.

Spectre is also updated from version 18 to 20.

Now I got a new problem when trying to run an RF simulation like HB (DC and transient work fine). It says "waiting for Spectre RF option License" and it does not proceed.

I believe that we have the right licenses for these type of simulations and I know that the licensing procedure is changed in new versions. By the way I couldn't find a way to fix this issue by reading some manuals.

Presumably you don't have the license! The licensing scheme has essentially stayed the same - you can either use individual licenses for Spectre or SpectreRF option, or the multi-mode simulation licenses which are token based. The fact that you can run non-RF analyses suggests that your licenses have been updated to the later version, but something is awry with the mix of products. It's either that or you're using MMSIM licenses and you don't have enough across the department.

Debugging this here is going to be pretty hard without knowing what your license configuration is, so I suggest you contact customer support.

    Andrew.
