How to add the block name as a extra description to the symbol

Hi All,

I need to update the schematic block symbols such that when the symbol is instantiated on the schematic canvas the block name also appears as a part of the symbol.

For example as shown in the snapshot below although I24 is the reference designator , I also need to ensure that the instantiated symbol also shows an extra description which in this case is lvl_shift_celln8

How can I include this description in the original symbol ?

thanks

Edit the symbol and add a label!

The simplest is to do Create->Label, pick "logical label" and this will add a label of type "NLPLabel" with value [@partName]. This will show the value of the partName property which is normally set to match the cellName. You could change that label to be [@cellName] instead which means it is strictly the same as the cell name. Or you could change the type to "normal label" in which case you just type in the text you want to appear rather than it being evaluated.
