Reading IC5033 schematic in IC6.1.6 ?

Sorry not sure if this is the correct place for this but here goes. Can you read Cadence virtuoso IC5033 schematic files in IC6.1.6? Need to open some files and they were generated on IC5033. I imported them into my Cadence folder, I can see it in the list of cells but when I click on the schematic it won't open. Any help would be appreciated. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

So I'm stuck on how to perform the conversion correctly. It's a problem with how I have my libraries organized. I pick the 'home/username/NCSU_FreePDK45'  as the directory and move all the libraries over except the one I want to convert but it gives the error message:

ERROR (CDBOA-107): You cannot run the translator in the same directory as the
CDBA cds.lib file. Doing so would add OpenAccess library
definitions to the CDBA cds.lib file, which is not
permitted. Run the translator from a different directory.

But the thing I don't understand is if I pick any other directory it says the cds.lib file specified does not exist or the file is not readable.

First of all, I would get the OpenAccess-enabled version of the NCSU PDK from NCSU (rather than trying to convert it yourself). Then start virtuoso in a new directory with the cds.lib just pointing at libraries from the Cadence installation plus the OA-enabled version of NCSU PDK.

Then you can run the conversion toolbox and point it at the cds.lib from your original IC5033 work area. You can then tell it which libraries to convert.

You could also read the documentation on migrating from CDB to OpenAccess... (which is shipped with IC616; can be found using cdnshelp or the Help menu in Virtuoso).

    Andrew.
