Cannot plot transient response (no graph/empty window)

Whenever I try to do a transient simulation of any circuit, I only get a black window, as seen below. DC and other simulations work fine. I've made a very simple inverter schematic as shown in the picture and I don't see any errors in the Spectre log. This problem occurs on any circuit, I've tried various. What could be the reason for this?

In the results browser, if you go over the signal name and either double-click or use right-mouse->plot signal - do they plot?

Also, which spectre version are you using (including the sub-version)? The spectre output log should indicate this...

That said, I just tried the circuit as you showed it, with the tran time as you showed it, in the same IC version (with Spectre 19.1 ISR17 in my case) and I get a message about net2:

net /net2 selected but not highlighted

Virtuoso hangs and starts taking a lot of memory. I switched back to an older SPECTRE version (I picked 16.1 ISR 8 arbitrarily) and that ran and plotted. So I suspect there's a compatibility issue. Certainly with the latest IC618 hot fix and the SPECTRE 19.1 ISR17 it runs OK.

With my original case which was hanging and giving the message about net2, if I went to Outputs->Save All and then at the bottom of the form, I changed the output format to "psf" (rather than psfxl) it ran OK. This might be a workaround for you. I suggest however that you update to recent versions - you may just have ended up with a problematic combination of versions.

I changed the output format to "psf" rather than psfxl, This matter is solved.

Thank you very much Andrew, Shawn!
