How to exploit annotation browser connectivity for custom cells?

YJ Jo

Hi,

I found that annotation browser connectivity check is very helpful for layout.

But when I tried to exploit this for the custom cell (not standard cells), it doesn't display the connectivity.

How to make it work?

Thanks,

Are you looking at the layouts in VLS XL? Do the layouts have instances of devices or are they just flat shapes?

    Andrew.

    Usually, layouts have instances.

I find out that I need to insert the pins provided by "Generate Layout" to check the connectivity by the Layout XL/GXL. If there is a better way, please let me know. Thanks, Andrew.

It's really hard to answer your questions because I don't know what you're starting from. This would probably be a lot easier via customer support, so that you can show an application engineer what you're trying to do.
