How can I solve the "ERROR (VIVA-9000)" ?

Hi all,

We got the "ERROR (VIVA-9000)"  in Monte Carlo simulation.

ERROR (VIVA-9000):No image saved: Possible reasons could be that none of the windows
or subwindows are visible or are non-empty.

What's the meaning of this error ? And How can I solve about this error?

Thanks,

Ichiro

It is difficult for me, at least, to provide a "firm" solution as I don't know about your version, your simulation setup, and any other messages that may have appeared in the CIW. However, in a Monte-Carlo simulation, the default state is not to save the outputs waveforms for each run. If you are trying to plot a waveform for one or more iterations of your Monte-Carlo dataset and have not enabled the feature to save all the simulation waveform data for each run, there is no data to plot and ViVa will indeed fail to plot and provide an error.

Hence, did you enable the feature to save the waveform data for each iteration of the Monte-Carlo simulation? To enable the feature, in the Monte-Carlo GUI setup dialog box shown in Figure 1, click on the "Advanced" selector pointed to in Figure 1. It will expand the GUI as shown in Figure 2 and verify you have checked the radio button circled in red to save the waveform data.

Once again, I don't know anything about your Monte-Carlo setup so this may not be an issue as you have already enabled this feature, but it came to mind immediately as a possible source of the error.

    Shawn

    Hi Shawn,

Thanks for your nice idea that it came to mind immediately as a possible source of the error. We were able to solve about this error !

I'm not entirely sure why VIVA-9000 (which is about saving images) would appear during a Monte Carlo simulation (that seems a bit odd, and I suspect there may have been other relevant warnings or errors which shone more light on the issue), but at least you've found a workaround.

    Hi Andrew,

Yes, I'm not clear all too. I only heard there is a VIVA-9000 error from my coworker, and I told him about trying checkbox. It seems he could solve his problem.
    Thank you for your concern.
