calcVal failure: Job log says some outputs used by Calcval have failed, but they haven't.

Hi,

I have a ran into a very frustrating problem with calcVal.

I have these tests selected:

AC_IF_BIST (test 0) uses expressions from AC_CALIB_IF_BIST (test 1) and config_schematic_schematic_ac (test 2).

For example, I have the following output expression in test 1 (expression red-underlined):

It runs normally when the 3 tests are run (Test 1 and Test 2 run first, test 0 does it at the end).

And I can normally plot that red-underlined output:

Then, on test 0, I call this output with calcVal like this:

Unfortunately, it fails:

When looking at the job log, I find the following suprising message:

Basically, the job log claims that the output above "'Gv_filter_out_BIST_in_out_dB" for test 1 "AC_CALIB_IF_BIST" has failed!

But I already showed above that in the same run the output expression for that test has been correctly evaluated.

I'm using Virtuoso ICADVM18.1-64b.

I'm not sure what to make of this.

Looking forward to your reply,

Best,

Ernesto

    Hi Ernesto,

There have been a number of fixes during the ICADVM18.1/IC6.1.8 release stream related to calcVal, and you don't give any indication as to which sub-version you're using. So I would suggest that you try moving to the latest hotfix (which would actually be ICADVM20.1 ISR17 - i.e. ICADVM20.1-64b.500.17; note that after ICADVM18.1-64b.500.13 the release name morphed into ICADVM20.1, but it's really just a continuation of the same hotfix stream). If that doesn't fix it, this would be best investigated via customer support. Then we can try to reproduce it and get this fixed.

    Regards,

    Andrew

It's shown in Help->About, or you can type getVersion(t) in the CIW, or it's shown in the CDS.log file, or you can type "virtuoso -W" on the UNIX command line.

    Andrew
