parasitic extraction on "updated" schematics

Hi, I have a question on how cadence handles extracted netlists during simulation

If I have a schematic/layout that is LVS clean, I can of course use that RCE file to simulate with extracted netlist.

Let's say I take the same schematic that has this RCE, but change a few devices inside of the schematic. Therefore, it is no longer LVS clean, but most of the other devices, nets, power supplies, etc are essentially the same. Can I still use the same RCE file even though the 'updated' schematic is not LVS clean anymore? Will it recognize the other nets and devices and just recognize the updated devices as pre-layout version?

Thanks in advance

If you are using the Hierarchy editor to specify the "RCE" file associated with the subcircuit of interest, the netlist will be composed using the "RCE" view and will only use the symbol view. Hence, as long as the schematic changes you made do not impact the symbol view used when the "RCE" view was created, the netlisting process should be successful and you can run the simulation using the existing "RCE" view.

The netlisting operation, assuming the "RCE" view of the subcircuit is specified in the Hierarchy editor, will not use the schematic - whether your schematic was updated or not  - and will only use the "RCE" view of the subcircuit for the netlisting operation.

Does the address your question life?
