DC operation point only print limited results

Hello everyone,

I am using Cadence 6.1.7-64b. When I run the dc simulation and want to check the dc operating point of the transistor. Only limited number of results are printed as shown below: I would expect to see much more dc info...

I was thinking this is related to the setting in the cdf editor: In the opParamExprList, only id ids vbs vds vdsat vgs vth are included. I tried to add gm into the list, but it doesn't help...

Is this because I didn't change the CDF in the base layer, rather than in the effective layer?

Have anyone encounter similar problem me.

Best regards,

Biasing

    Hi Biasing,

Yes, if there is opParamExprList set, then that will limit what is displayed to the parameters in opParamExprList. Because they are being mapped from one level down in the hierarchy, it needs to know exactly how to do that mapping.

Note that if you change the CDF you have to renetlist/simulate the design again, because the information about that mapping is generated at netlisting time (it's not looked up live in the CDF post-simulation). Depending on how you're running simulation (e.g. using ADE XL, Explorer, Assembler) then it might be doing that netlisting in a background process and hence the effective CDF won't be seen since it will be re-reading from disk (if you're running in ADE L, or with the others with just a single simulation and single point optimisation is enabled in the job policy, then it should be happening in the main Virtuoso session). Ultimately you'd need to edit the Base CDF to fix this though (and renetlist/simulate).

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your reply. You are right. I have to edit the Base CDF and then renetlist/simulate to fix this.

    Best regards,

    Biasing
