Stop an area of a schematic being netlisted.

It would be extremely useful when debugging simulations to quick stop parts of a schematic being netlisted.

Im thinking some kind of layer or bounding box.

Current workaround = is saving hacked versions of schematics which is not ideal.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hi Faisal,

Area select the instances you want omitted, and then hit shift-DEL (the key binding shows up on the Right Mouse menu over an instance, provided that you don't have multiple things selected). It's also Edit->Ignore Instanes in the pulldown menus. This toggles the status - if they are being ignored, then they become netlisted again. When ignored there's a big fat red cross through each instance.

If using the hierarchy editor, you can also select the instances in the hierarchy editor tree (or via cross-selection from the schematic) and use bind to open. This avoids editing the schematic, although it's not clearly visualised on the schematic.

    Regards,

    Andrew
