Extract Layout tool in Cadence Virtuoso

Hello

I am using Cadence Virtuoso version IC6.1.8-64b.500.6

I have a quesion about the "Extract Layout" from connectivity, in the option I would like to know the difference between the "Current Cellview" and the "Current and Cellviews in Hierarchy",

In the options if I go for "Current Cellview"  I will have "Extract connectivity to level", does this represent the top or bottom level? how can I know the level number I am working on it

if I go for "Current and Cellviews in Hierarchy", I will have the option "Search Depth", I think here we give the bottom level?

Thank you

Regards

I'd overlooked this old question. Normally you just extract connectivity at the top level only rather than down through the hierarchy. Extracting down through the hierarchy is mainly useful if you want to connect somewhere other than at the pins in the lower level blocks.
