Sine wave amplitude-modulated by a ramp for transient simulation

Hi,

how can I create a sine wave waveform whose amplitude is modulated by a ramp, in the time domain? Using analogLib components..

I mean something like:

at t=0: Vampl=Vampl_min

at t=t_sim_final: Vampl=Vampl_max

Thanks

    How about this:

    • V0 is a vsource with type=sine, ampl=1 and freq=1M
    • V1 is a vsource with type=pulse, Zero value of Vampl_min, One value of Vampl_max, Rise Time of t_sim_final
    • E0 is a "pvcvsp" (a polynominal voltage controlled voltage source pcell" with 2 controlling inputs, and coefficients as shown in the property assistant above - i.e. the first coefficients as 0 until Poly Coeff 4 which is 1. This gives the product of the two inputs.

You can look at "spectre -h pvcvs" (without the final p) to see how the coefficients work.

I could upload the schematic and testbench but it was easily enough to describe, to be honest.

    Andrew
