How to plot using Simulation files stored in a folder?

Hello,

I have performed parametric simulation of 16000 points for a particular circuit and all the simulation files have been stored in the simulation folder. Can I plot graphs for these without running the simulation again? (The simulation files is stored as netlist and psf ).(IC 618).

    First, as you probably know, ADE-L (with its Parametric Tool)  is no longer support by Cadence. I would highly suggest you consider migrating your design to ADE-Explorer/Assembler. The transition is quite easy and there is an option in Explorer/Assembler to import your state file from ADE-L. The tools will convert the state file to the new common database format used by Assembler and Explorer called a maestro view. The new tools have far more features than ADE-L and eliminate the limitations of the ADE-L Parametric tool - as well as running simulations far more efficiently!

    Nevertheless, the answer to your question is yes. I have occasionally run into plotting issues when re-plottng Parametric analysis results from ADE-L, but can usually work around them as follows:

    1. Save your parametric analysis results to a new directory (i.e., copy your existing "simulation" folder to a folder with a different name.

    2. Run an arbritary, but very short, parametric analysis (you will not be using these simulation results other than to allow you to load your desired parametric results directory)

    3. Select your desired parametric analysis results with its 16000 points

    4. You should be able to both select the name of your new directory and plot its outputs.

    Although normally you wouldn't need to go to the extents that Shawn suggests. Using Results->Select in ADE L can access the previous results normally) or simply using the results browser in ViVA (or from ADE) should allow you to plot the previous results.

    You didn't really explain how you ran the simulations before, so we're having to do some guesswork here as to what you've done and what you've tried.
