Hello,

Is there a .cdsinit setting to open assembler/explorer, by default, on a new window?

Thank you

Best Regards

Aldo

    Aldo,

I'm struggling to understand why this would be useful or make sense, given that Explorer/Assembler needs a specific lib/cell/view for the maestro view - it's not just a blank workspace for which you decide the lib/cell/view later. You could add something like this to your .cdsinit:

geOpen(?lib "Two_Stage_Opamp" ?cell "trialNew" ?view "maestro" ?viewType "maestro" ?mode "w")

but I can't see what the point would be.

    Hi Andrew,

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. I would like to open the Explorer/Assembler interface, by default, in a new window (instead of a new tab with the schematic view).

My default is "open in new tab"

    Thank you very much

    Regards

    Aldo

You can't change this default. There are a number of requests to have the schematic separate from the Explorer/Assembler window, but these have not been implemented (it's not quite this, but it's related). Looking at the code though, it forces it back to "new tab" when chosen from the Launch menu.

If you want different behaviour, you'll need to contact customer support and an enhancement request would need to be filed.

    Regards,

    Andrew
