About Multi technology simulation

I think it can be realized by setting all model files in Model library.

What is different from the MTS option?

And when I use the MTS option, should I click the button and set Model file one by one to Instances/Cells? I'd like to set a model file automatically to lower hierarchy cells..

""MTS blocks are indicated with a check mark in the MTS column of the Cell Table tab. Click the browse **** button next to a cell to add the path to the model files for the respective technology with which you want to simulate the cell.""

The point of MTS is to allow a set of models to be provided for everything within a particular block in the hierarchy - they then would apply to everything within that block. The primary purpose of this is that for technologies from the same foundry, the models are often called the same thing for different technologies - so the model might be called (say) nch for both a 180nm and 28nm technology - so supplying them at the top level using model libraries would not be possible because they clash.

If you use MTS and add the models for the root of the design hierarchy using those models, they are then scoped to that part of the design (you'll see that the netlist structure changes in MTS mode, where the subckts are included within subckts, and the models are included at the top level of the subckt that uses them).

    Does that help?

    Hi Andrew,

OK, I agree with you, "MTS" is more useful than "model library".
    Thanks!!
