InstallScape - failed to install component: cdsPython

I haven't been able to install the latest hotfixes for IC618 through InstallScape. The only message I was able to retrieve at th logs was:

Failed to install component: cdsPython64b_lnx86 20.10-s001lnx86.

I believe this component did not exist for the previous versions, which I was able to install.

Could anyone please provide some guidance on how to find the source of this problem?

The OS is CentOS Linux 7.7.1908.

I did find a discussion about an issue a little while back when installing a newer version of IC618 over an older version because something had changed from being a directory to a file between two different python packages, and that was the conflict. I'm a bit surprised that you're facing it now, but maybe it depends on which version you were starting from. This was quite a few subversions ago that the problem was reported and discussed by R&D.

My suggestion would be to install the latest hotfix (IC6.1.8 ISR22) in a clean directory rather than on top of an existing installation. If using InstallScape to do the installation directly (rather than downloading media images), it will download all the packages it needs, so there's no need to install the base release first - just run iscape.sh and then search and install the IC6.1.8 hotfix and it should be fine.

    Regards,

    Andrew
