Hi All,

Suppose in a schematic I named a wire "A" and then did the layout, later on, i changed the name of the particular net to say "B".Now when i do connectivity- update-Components & Nets-Update Nets and Instance Name mismatch only in Layout XL.I get the following symbols in magenta color. What do these represent and how can I remove them from my layout?

would i be able to do the vice versa. suppose i update some device parameters in the layout and if I want that to be reflected in the schematic ? I do see Connectivity->update->schematic parameters. But that doesnt seem to be working

That should work. You either need to pre-select the instances that you want to update, or if you haven't got anything selected you would select them and then press the Enter key (for example) and then you'll get a popup telling you what it did.

It's possible (if there's hierarchy in the schematic, and the hierarchy is parameterised) that you can't update the schematic parameters (because the sub-block definition may end up as multiple different-sized components in the layout after editing), but I'm assuming that's not your problem here.
