Boolean operations in Virtuoso Layout Editor

Hi, I'm wondering if there is a way to simply perform logical actions on groups of shapes in Virtuoso Layout Editor.

Specifically: I checked a random unrelated graphics editor, and it allows Union (OR), Difference (Subtract), Intersection (AND), and Exclusion (XOR) with its shapes. Layout Editor can trivially do OR edits with the "Merge" option, but I wasn't able to find a good way to do the others.

I looked into the Advanced Boolean Engine functions, but they did not work for me because 1) according to the manual they only work with 45 and 90 degree angles and my shapes include other angles, 2) I can't figure out how to obtain the IDs of currently open/selected cellviews, layers, shapes, or other objects (this might be trivial, but various searches did not help me so it would be nice if you could spell it out, for the benefit of myself and later searchers).

Is there a way to perform these operations (AND, XOR, subtract) that I'm missing?

Thanks!

Tools->Layer Generation does what you want. It's built into the layout editor.
