Changing names of multiple nets connected to a unique pin name

Hello all,

My task is to change the net names for all the pins with a unique name. For eg. I have to change the net names connected to the bulk of the PMOSs to another name. The problem I am facing when selecting is that the existing net name is also associated with other pins.

Tool- Virtuoso Schematic Editor

The pre-existing design is similar to figure 1, i.e. the VPB (PMOS Bulk) pin is connected to a net named VDD, and similarly, in the case of VNB (NMOS Bulk), the pin is connected to GND. Now there are many gates (NAND, NOR, etc) and individual MOSFETs on a single design canvas and there are many cell views as well. Instead of changing all those net names individually, how can I change the Figure 1 design to a Figure 2 design where the VPB pin is connected to a net with a label VDDP and VDDN in the case of VNB.

Please note: the net and its name is highlighted in red color and the black square represents a pin associated with the orange-colored text of the symbol.

Thanks.

I was about to complain that you'd not stated whether this was schematic or layout, but you've edited the post to indicate that it's schematic. It's not really that clear what exactly you are trying to do or how you are doing it - perhaps some screenshots might help clarify what you are aiming to do and what isn't working?

This would probably need some SKILL code to automate since it's a rather specific requirement and not something you'd generally do. You didn't share actual Virtuoso schematics, and precisely what you'd need to automate would depend on how those schematics are drawn. For example, my guess is that there is a wire connected from VPB which ends up at a pin (your pictures don't show any pins, which is why this is a guess); you'd need to change the pin which is physically connected to the wire connected physically to the VPB pin on the instance. Whether that's right or not depends on exactly how the schematic is drawn - and for example whether there are wire labels on the wire too. Just changing the terminal for the pin won't help because that would affect the other VDD pin too, and this needs to be selective in some way.

Anyway, I don't have any SKILL already written to do this.

    Regards,

    Andrew
