Wire Assistant in layout loosing connectivity

Senan

Hello,

I am using Cadence Virtuoso version IC6.1.8-64b.500.6

I am newly facing a problem with the Wire Assistant from the layout, my problem is that when I click on the connection from the schematic it will not be identified by the Wire Assistant Net,

I have tried to update the design net and made layout extraction but not solved the issue

it is becoming a problem for me since the Wire Assistant helps me to Create buses in my circuit

Thank you

Best Regards

    Hello Senan,

When you select the net in the schematic does it select the same net in the Layout Navigator ?

You need to have a perfect correspondance between schematic and layout to use the cross selection between the two.

    Thanks,

    Alex

Thank you Alex for your reply,

Actually this is my problem for the moment that I have no connectivity to the net between the schematic and the layout navigator, hence the net will not be pointed on the layot navigator.

However, I have found out that if I bring the device connected to this net to the layout then the navigator starts to identify the net, however, the wire assistant remains missing the net.

    Thanks

    Regards

    Hello Senan,

First you need need to get connectivity in the layout if you want to select the net in the schematic and expect to get it selected on layout side.

I think best would be to use Generate All From Source to get all the devices with the correct connectivity. This command is available in Connectivity menu > Generate > All From Source.

Once you have that you shoudl get all the nets available in the layout Navigator and when selecting the net in schematic it should be cross selected in layout.

You can cross check with the layout Navigator selection.

By the way you can enter manually the name of the nets into the Wire Assistant.

Selecting them in Layout Navigator and starting with Create Bus command should work as well.

    Thanks,

    Alex
