What the license is required in spectre simulation?

Hi Senior user,

What the license is required in the spectre simulation? Can I run the simulations without ADE license?

I found below in the Support. Dose this mean if I can prepare input.scs file, I can run the simulation using only MMSIM license?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For example: You are running Spectre X with the below command
spectre +preset=mx input.scs +liclog +lorder MMSIM

This will require 3 Virtuoso_Multi_mode_Simulation tokens to run the simulation. Apart from the MMSIM token it will also checkout 3 Spectre_X_MMSIM_Lk. In the log file, you will see

Notice from spectre during license check-out.
Checked out 3 license(s) of 'Virtuoso_Multi_mode_Simulation' for [Spectre X Base].
Checked out 3 license(s) of 'Spectre_X_MMSIM_Lk' for [Spectre X Base].

Best regards,

Ichiro

    Ichiro,

You don't need an ADE license if running Spectre from the command line. You need simulator licenses though - which might be either multimode simulation tokens or the "à la carte" licenses where you have licenses for the specific product (Spectre Classic, Spectre APS, or Spectre X). For details you should speak to your account team or customer support. If you run the simulation within ADE then of course you need an ADE license (dependent upon which tier of ADE you're using).
