wire assistant - can settings be locked for a session?

I constantly find myself having to reset metal widths (from minimum to something I prefer), reset # of via cuts, alignment visibility etc etc as I go up and down hierarchy and from layout to layout.  Is there a way to LOCK wire assistant settings for a cadence session so that my defaults are not the pdk defaults?

It would be nice for this to be offered as an option.

Quick answer (as I have not had a chance to fully check this), you can use the "VSR Save Preset" at the top of the Wire Assistant to save to a name, and then the VSR Load Preset to load it again at any point

From this article: How to save and restore settings of Wire Assistant. Example: set default minimum number of cuts to 2 irresepective of constraint group you should be able to define the default preset too (I didn't check that part, just the load/save).

    That worked great, thanks!

Well, I did have to edit the preset file to eliminate a bunch of vias that I don't use and for some reason were included in the file which led to an error.
