How to add variable to dynamic parameter file

Hi,

I want to include the following dynamic parameter file

pset paramset{

time     temp

0          25

10m     70

20m     temp_xxx

}

The variable temp_xxx has been created in variable of the test.

But when i run the sim,  it reports the error about temp_xxx. " ERROR (SPECTRE-8525): The parameter 'temp' in paramset 'pset' cannot be of type string. Redefine the parameter and rerun the simulation. "

One the other hand, i can directly input those content in the dynamic parameter setting in the tran sim. There is no problem about temp_xxx.

Anyone knows some clue?

BR

    Spectre has recently been enhanced to support variables within a paramset - see How to use design variable to control transient dynamic parameter set (this was added in SPECTRE21.1 ISR9, so pretty recently). You will need to update your spectre version to allow this.

    Hi Andrew, thansk for your feedback. What is the best way to check spectre or mmsim version?

    From the command line, "spectre -W" will tell you the sub-version. It also appears at the top of the spectre log file.

    Hi Andrew,

    I have updated the spectre(mmsim) version to 21.10.460 ISR 10.

    In tran sim page

    the file content is

    the variable temp_perf has been defined in test/design_variables

    Then the sim log tells me

    obviously, the variable is still not be recognized.

    Could you do me a favor to check up?

    Thanks

    BR

    It does not work with the param_file approach. The UI also hasn't quite caught up to do this via the paramset option either, so there are two ways of handling this right now.

    The first is to create a file such as this:

    time temp
    0 25
    36m -20
    54m 25
    72m 70
    90m 25
    115m temp_perf

    and then (don't turn on the dynamic parameters checkbox) on the Misc tab of the transient options form, in the additionalParams field, enter:

    paramsetfile="/path/to/paramsetfile.txt"

    The second approach would be to create a file (with a .scs suffix, e.g. paramset.scs):

    tempChange paramset {
     time temp
     0 25
     36m -20
     54m 25
     72m 70
     90m 25
     115m temp_perf
    }

    and then include this via Setup->Simulation Files->Definition Files or Setup->Model Libraries. Then in the same additionalParams field mentioned above, enter:

    paramset=tempChange

    Either should work.

    Hi Andrew,

    I tried your 2nd solution, it works well. Perfect!

    Thanks for a lot for your suggestion!
