how to input hex to a 32bit bus pin

Hi,

A block has a 32bit input pin A<31:0>. I know what the setting needs to be but  there is only VSS, VDD in the testbench, to write such expression is both tedious and error-prone. I wonder if there is any better way to input such bus value?  Ideal scenario would be directly setting 8b HEX value

thanks!

    Kevin,

Two approaches that you could use.

    1. Using the bussetp component described in Creating a component that allows setting a value on a bus in an analog simulation. This allows setting a decimal value on the bus, although it is limited to 31 bits (you could of course have two bussetp doing half the bus each)
    2. Using the vector file input (Setup→Simulation Files) which is covered in the Spectre documentation. This would allow a true hex input which is time-varying if you wish.
