How to set a default for 'User Command-Line Options'?

MikeVP

I want to add a default setting to 'User Command-Line Options' via my .cdsinit.  I searched for that, but I can't find anything in the forums.

Can you also me know how to find all of the spectre.envOpts variables?

If I understand your question correctly, the Trouble shooting article at the On-line support site URL:

    https://support.cadence.com/apex/ArticleAttachmentPortal?id=a1Od0000000nbHIEAY&pageName=ArticleContent

provides a method to place your desired command line options in a spectre.cfg file. To set this set as a default condition in ADE, include the line:

    envSetVal("spectre.envOpts" "userCmdLineOption"  'string "+config <path>/spectre.cfg")

in your .cdsinit. <path> is the unix directory path to the spectre.cfg file you create.

There is a presentation that provides a set of command line options at URL:

    Appendix-A: Spectre Command-Line Options (Video)

and a list of command line options may be found in Chapter 2 of the Spectre Circuit Simulator Reference (21.1)

    Spectre Circuit Simulator Reference 21.1

    or directly at URL:

    https://support.cadence.com/apex/techpubDocViewerPage?path=spectreref/spectreref21.1/chap2.html#pgfId-1065083

Do these help at all Mike VP?

Yes, thank you very much.  However, I don't see "userCmdLineOption" listed in chapter 2 of the Spectre Circuit Simulator Reference. Maybe I'm looking for something different?

The term "userCmdLineOption"  relates to ADE and not to with the Spectre simulator itself. This ADE option allows for including specific commands into the spectre command as command line arguments. You can find the resulting spectre command in the runSimulation file in the netlist directory.

The runSImulation file is used to launch a spectre simulation from an ADE Explorer/Assemlber job.

You can use the command line options provided in the Spectre Reference manual (Chapter 2) as entries into the Explorer/Assembler user command line option dialog box.

Did I understand your question MikeVP?

    Thank you.

Where can I find a list of terms used in envSetVar("spectre.envOpts" "<term>" ...) that can be used inside Virtuoso for ADE or maestro?

Options->Cdsenv Editor and search for spectre.envOpts is one way. Many of these should also be documented if you search in cdnshelp too - for example, if you go to the Help menu and type "spectre.envOpts" in the box at the top of the Help menu.
