command unavailable after use

 the issue in summary is that the command window close after the command is done.
so if I need to add 10 contacts I need to press the letter "o" 10 times because after I place the first via the GUI/window "Create Via" closes automatically

the same happen to path, to ruler, to move, to stretch, etc, etc, etc

 virtuoso version ICADVM20.1-64b.500.25

    Look at Options->Editor. It sounds as if you have "Repeat Commands" turned off.

    This is controlled by this cdsenv setting:
