What exactly is the role of "model=" and element lines for the Quantus QRC setup?

I'm running a Quantus QRC extraction, for which I realized that some "model=" and "element" lines are missing from the lvsfile used for the qrcTechFile compilation.

(E.g. lines that are missing, assuming a device with model "cap_model":

model = cap[cap_model],cap_model
element cap[cap_model] SEED_cap_model net_1 net_2 net_3

)

However, somewhat to my surprise, the extraction seems to run fine and the devices are netlisted correctly (at least at a superficial glance).

So, what exactly is the use of such lines? (I already checked the documentation, but I could not find any detailed information).

What can go wrong if the lines are missing from the lvsfile ?

    I'm not sure of the answer myself (without doing further research, and I'm away this week) - I think the best place to ask this is via customer support.
