Copying layout from one view to the other with the connectivity information intact

Hello ,

I have 2 layouts views within the same cell and both correspond to the same schematic. I need to copy/transfer the partial layout from one view to the other layout view. When I am copying using the 'c' command the shapes get copied but not the net connectivity/names seem to be lost. Is there a way to have the net connectivity intact while copying ?

I am using IC6.1.8 and Layout GXL.

thanks

    Hello,

When you copy objects from one cellview to another the connectivity won't be preserved by default as the connectivity in the target cellview could be different.

But in the new view if you run the connectivity extractor (the bomb icone on the XL toolbar) it should proapagte the connectivity correctly.

You can alos in the Copy Opion form (F3) activate the preserve connectivity option which would copy the connectivity that I would not recommend as it could create false shorts in the target cellview.

    Thanks,

    Alex
