ADEXL not starting

Hi,

when trying to start adexl I get the following error after waiting a long time.

\o axlBeanstalkd process '55452' was stopped, the last strace information before it's stopped is dumped to '/tmp/strace_2022_12_22_09_52_54_55452'
\o Messages already created for current virtuoso session was lost and cannot be recovered.
\e *Error* error: Timed out attempting to connect to launched beanstalkd process. - nil
\w *WARNING* (DEBASE-102079): A SKILL error occurred in function _axlDataTrigger
\# Current Window: window(6)
\w *WARNING* (DEBASE-102084): Data trigger for viewType adexl failed.

Can someone help me what the issue here is ? Is it a firewall or some other access problems ?

How could I fix this ?

Thanks in advance

It really helps if you provide sufficient information as outlined in Guidelines for the Custom IC Design Forum - knowing the sub-version you're using is pretty important as often issues may be fixed already.

Anyway, this is a bit odd, because the messages are related to processes that are started for ADE Explorer/Assembler when using LSCS, but this error is related to ADE XL, which is strange.

I did find that there were some reports of a similar issue with maestro views, and these seemed to be fixed in an ISR (ISR18) of IC6.1.8/ICADVM20.1, but it's not clear if it was completely fixed.

Is this for an existing adexl view? If you look in the view, is the data.sdb empty?

    I would suggest:

    1. Use the latest IC6.1.8/ICADVM20.1 version (ISR29) and see if the problem still occurs
    2. If it does, contact customer support - file a case after logging in. We'll need to see the data and setup.

I can't create an adexl file. When I try, it takes a lot of time loading and then it gives me this error. Also, but maybe not related to this issue, when I start Cadence I get warnings that the connection to my licence server was refused or timed out but cadence is starting after some time and I can use everything except adexl.

    To suggestion 1 : I think I am already using IC6.1.8/ICADVM20.1 version

To suggestion 2: I can't use customer support

Could it be a firewall issue ?

Suggestion 1: There are 4 years worth of sub-versions of these releases so that's not very specific. What does getVersion(t) return when typed in the CIW?

Suggestion 2: If you're at an academic institution, then raise this through the person at the university who is responsible for your programme. If through Europractice, you can contact Europractice for support. If you're not at a University, then I don't see why you can't contact support.

Firewall: I've no idea. I don't see why a firewall would cause this problem.

Can you create a maestro view instead? ADE XL is obsolete anyway, so you should be moving to using Explorer/Assembler.

    Hi,

    1: getVersion gives me  this :@(#)$CDS: virtuoso version 6.1.8-64b 10/05/2021 19:30 (cpgsrv11)

2: Ok then I will try to contact Europractice instead

I am currently trying to run it. I clicked on ADE Explorer and created a new view. Now it is loading elec.cxt. I think it will now take about 20 to 30 minutes loading. I will write you again when I get an Error.

    Thank you again

You didn't run getVersion(t) but ran getVersion(). However, it's about a year old, and I could reverse engineer it from that.

Either way, contacting Europractice is the right thing to do here.
