Display dimming bindkey stops working after ascending or descending hierarchy

Hi,

I have a bindkey setup for display dimming with the following command:

hiGetCurrentWindow()->dimmingOn=!hiGetCurrentWindow()->dimmingOn

The bindkey stops working when I ascend or descend schematic hierarchy. It starts working again after I manually turn on dimming from View -> Display Dimming

Is there a way to make sure the bindkey works even after ascend/descend?

    Hello, facing similar issue. Is there a way to have the option in the schematic window "View --> Display Dimming" always checked by default whether ascending or descending ?

    thanks

    You could do this:

    envSetVal("layout" "dimmingOn" 'boolean hiGetCurrentWindow()->dimmingOn=!hiGetCurrentWindow()->dimmingOn)

    This toggles it for the window, and sets the cdsenv var which will influence what happens when you descend (at least). I think that ascend may always remember the previous value that was displayed (I haven't fully tested this as it's late)
