Input File for Vsource in Cadence Virtuoso

Hi,

I am using vsource component from the analogLib library in my design. I have more than 400 instances of the same in my design & I am using it as a pwl with input given in a csv file. Therefore, I have more than 400 csv files for each of the instances. My question is, is there a way to specify the input file for vsource as a variable? Going over each and every instance of vsource & typing the file name is too cumbersome. Is there a better way I can specify the input CSV files for these sources?

Thanks in advance.

Two things - you don't have to give a full path - you can just use the file name and specify the directory under Setup→Simulation Files→Include Path. Or if you want to make it a variable, use this:

Then the file name is a variable name that you can specify in ADE (you need to define the variable in ADE with double quotation marks around the file name).

Thank you for your reply Andrew.

If I give the file name as a variable, is there a way I can specify the values for multiple variables in ADE at once since I will be having over 400 variables (for 400 instances) & specifying the file name to each variable is time consuming?

    Dear Maverick007,

I think you may have asked this same question in the RF Forum. I happened to be on that Forum and pose a possible methid to consider.

Other than your separate question (which is about easily setting different variables on each instance in the schematic), if you want to set 400 variables in ADE, then you could put them all in a CSV file (i.e. a variable name and value on each line, separated by a comma) and then use Right Mouse->Import CSV over the Design Variables in ADE Explorer or Assembler (could also do over the Global Variables in ADE Assembler).
