Vcres parameters

Hello i am using a vcres cell in analoglib. My question is how to set its parameters? especially the vol/res conversion factor

Thank you

    Here's a small example:

Note that the voltage/res conversion factor is the transconductance - so I set this to 1k. I also set the min and max resistance in this example. The input is a 2V peak sine wave, and you can see that with a current driving the voltage-controlled resistor, you get the same voltage out as the resistance tracks the input voltage between 50mOhm and 2kOhm.

You can find out a bit more from both the analogLib documentation - use the Help menu in any window in Virtuoso and type in "vcres" in the box at the top - and also in the spectre command-line help "spectre -h vccs" (the resistor is handled as a special case of the voltage-controlled current source).

If you pick the pwl type, then instead of a linear factor, you give a set of piece-wise control voltage/resistance pairs (you can control the number of pairs) - plus there's a parameter delta to adjust the smoothing (see the spectre help for more details).

    Regards,

    Andrew
