B1f and K in sp Analysis

I was checking stability of a differential single stage amplifier, obviously I had 50-ohm port in 50-ohm port out, I checked K which at some frequencies was below one, which means potentially unstable, but B1f was greater than zero at all frequencies.

Gonzalez microwave book states K>1, |delta|<1 for unconditional stability of a two port, and also states you can combine with B in which if it is greater than 0, is equal to necessary and sufficient condition stated earlier.

My question is how can I know what is B1f in sp analysis?  Is there similar approach to spectre -h xxx that I can do to find out?

The B in Gonzalez is 1+|S11|^2-|S22|^2-|delta|^2

    Dear illaoi,

There is both an ocean and ViVA function available to compute B1f (the alternative stability factor).

The ViVA (i.,e available from the Calculator) is documented at URL:

    https://support.cadence.com/apex/techpubDocViewerPage?xmlName=vivaxlug.xml&title=Virtuoso%20Visualization%20and%20Analysis%20XL%20User%20Guide%20--%20Calculator%20Functions%20-%20B1f&hash=pgfId-1217359&c_version=ICADVM20.1&path=vivaxlug/vivaxlugICADVM20.1/appD.html#pgfId-1217359

and the ocean version of the command at URL:

    https://support.cadence.com/apex/techpubDocViewerPage?xmlName=oceanref.xml&title=OCEAN%20Reference%20--%20Predefined%20and%20Waveform%20(Calculator)%20Functions%20-%20B1f&hash=pgfId-1852349&c_version=ICADVM20.1&path=oceanref/oceanrefICADVM20.1/chap10.html#pgfId-1852349

I hope you now have access to the On-line support site to be able to view these illaoi.
