Cadence Simulation

Hello all,

How to add a hard drive in the place of the simulation folder. Using the Monte Carlo simulation, the data is generated of 200 GB. How to overcome the storage issue.

Thank You

Regards,

You might first consider reducing the number of outputs you are saving (or timepoints) to reduce the required database size. It becomes very slow to access signals in large databases, and hence it is to your advantage to reduce its size as much as possible.

If you still need to increase your available storage space, simply change the location of your results database. If I am understanding your question, it appears you are using the default location to store your results database (UNIX directory ./simulation in your working directory). You can change the location from ./simulation to any path you like from within ADE using Options->Save (see Figure 1) or adding the equivalent command to your .cdsinit file:

    envSetVal("asimenv.startup" "projectDir" 'string "<path_to_directory>")

Being a little pedantic, the default location is actually ~/simulation rather than ./simulation but the principle holds nevertheless.

Also, you might want to check the Monte Carlo options to see whether you are saving waveforms/family data; those are only needed if you are going to plot waveforms from the individual simulations rather than histograms of scalar measurements. Not saving those can also cut down the data volume significantly.
