why diffusion sharing not possible

Hi,

Could someone explain why diffusion sharing isn't working as expected on the top row? Are there any tool limitations preventing the sharing of the drain and source between two devices in this specific scenario?

Regards

    Supriyo,

The top two transistors have a different bulk connection than the bottom two, so they can't share the source/drain as the bulk would be connected together (i.e. shorted). If you connect the bulk of the top two transistors to pin5, then they should all abut.
