[Solved]Cannot open layout view due to stuck at "tsmcCdfFormInitCB"

Hi, I am new to virtuoso and recently there seems to be something wrong with the environment. The problem is whenever I try to open a layout view from Library Manager, the process will just get stuck at "tsmcCdfFormInitCB" and can never open the view.

I took a screenshot when this problem happens as following:

And then I cannot do anything except pressing ctrl+c at the command line, it can then open the view but I still believe that there is something wrong with my environment because the "tsmcCdfFormInitCB" step should be executed before opening the view.

Also, I suppose another problem caused by this is that when I try to create a new library, after I typed the library's name and pressed OK, the pop up dialogue like below should appear but did not appear, and I cannot even open the properties page of the new library(After I click the properties button, nothing happens).

I am confused why this problem happens and do not know the reason and solution to it, can someone help?

Best regards,

yuh wang

2023.11.30 Update:

This problem is due to Ubuntu OS monitor bug, when the function "tsmcCdfFormInitCB" is executed, there should be a pop up dialogue and after closing the dialogue, the layout view can then be displayed. However, due to a bug in dual display mode in Ubuntu, the pop up dialogue did not show up correctly, and since virtuoso "thinks" that user should do something with the pop up, it will wait until the pop up is closed.

Also, the subproblem is caused by this bug too where the pop up dialogue did not appear correctly, so nothing can be done until I close that pop up dialogue.

After changing my OS to single display mode, everything works well.

Regards,

yuh wang
