Very slow ADEXL datasheet generation

markris

Hi All,

The datasheet creation takes till 12 hours when an ADEXL datasheet is generated that processes more than 1000 simulations (like MC simulations); moreover, sometimes the generation stops in the between with the following error (which I guess is due to exceeded timeout coming from the job setup + job running locally instead of being dispatched on a more performant machine):

Has someone of you faced the same issue? Or, do you have any suggestion how to run the datasheet creation not on on the local host or how to speed up the generation of it?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Do you have "save statistical data" enabled on the Monte Carlo options form? This can lead to slowness (I've found some reports at least of this) in the data sheet generation. Also, are you saving family waveforms and plotting lots of waveforms?

Which IC sub-version are you using?

    Hi Andrew,

Yes, the statistical data export is enabled in this specific case. Regarding the waveforms, instead, the option is disabled during the datasheet creation (in order to try to speed-up the generation of it).

Instead, regarding the IC sub-version, the one used is the following:

Can you try without saving the statistical parameters to see if that makes a difference?

Otherwise, I suggest you contact customer support.

    Regards,

    Andrew

Hi Andrew, sorry for the late reply.. unfortunately this does not help.. it seems that it is really a Cadence issue when a datasheet for many runs has to be generated. I tried also reducing the number of runs to 600, but it took up to 2 days to generate a datasheet! Did you try on your side if you have the same issue?

I didn't test this (you're using an old version too), so I would suggest you first try the latest ISR (since the version you're using is over 3 years old) and if that doesn't help contact customer support (submit a case after logging in) as I suggested before.

Ok, I will do so. To change Cadence version is tricky due to project contraints. However; I will try also that and in case contact the customer support.
