Not able to annotate "Region operating point

Hi,

I was trying to find the region of operation of my transistor. In the Annotations->Setup there was no option to annotate the region.

I went to Tools->CDF->Edit in the CIW. Then, switch to the Simulation Information tab and change the simulator to spectre. Under the opParamExprList field, I cannot see the "region" input. When I try to edit it, there is the following error:

*ERROR* The 'Default Value' is not specified for the following component parameter(s): degradation
'Default Value' is a mandatory field for component parameters.
These component parameters will not be added to the CDF.

Can anyone help me find the region of operation?

Thanks and Regards,

Vishesh

    Vishesh,

This is going to be very PDK-specific (the error you are getting suggests something is not quite right in the CDF anyway - but must be specific to the PDK you're using). The error is nothing to do with the opParamExprList change - I am assuming there is already an opParamExprList set and you've just changed it?

It's possible the change will have worked (you have to re-netlist and re-simulate to see any effect); note that you will have had to change the Base CDF (not Effective) as some ADE netlisting is done in the background and Effective CDF is only changed in memory. That requires write access to the PDK.

You might be better off asking the PDK provider about this.

    Hi Andrew,

As always, thanks a lot for answering the problem. It gave a lot of clarity.

    Regards,

    Vishesh
