How to put two different pins on the same net in the Virtuoso Layout?

  Hello,

For the routing resistance information of a long metal routing, I have put two pins on the same net. Now, in the layout it is not allowed to put two different pins on the same net. Is there any way to have two different pins on the same net?

Regards,

Urbashi

    Hello,

To add more clarity on my query, I have added an example of the problem. Here I want to have the access of two pins to know the routing resistance effect after extraction. In the schematic I can put two different pins on the same net using the IPROBE. But in the layout, it does not allow me to put two different pins on the same net. It will be appreciated if you can share the solution for the same.

    Thanks.

Most PDKs have metal resistors for this purpose (see also https://support.cadence.com/apex/ArticleAttachmentPortal?id=a1O3w00000AHHoUEAX).

    Hello Frank,

Thanks for the reply. Have been trying the same but using metal resistors shows error during extraction. I encounter with the ERROR (ICEMAP-221891) i.e., can not find model for the metal layer in extview.trp file.

Did you try doing what the message said, i.e. "Contact Cadence Customer Support for assistance"?
