Custom check for Symbol Editor when not modified

I am running a custom check for my symbol editor using dbRegPostSaveTrigher and it gets triggered when I click on Check&save.

However It only gets triggered when I have made some changes to my symbol

Is there a way to trigger a custom check using check&save even when my symbol hasn’t been modified?

What you really want is an equivalent of schRegPostCheckTrigger for symbols. Unfortunately, this doesn't exist (at least not as a public function) - as outlined in this article: How to register symbol post check and save trigger similar to schematic schRegPostCheckTrigger. SKILL code to report shorted pins or terminals in a symbol view the best option is dbRegPostSaveTrigger, but unfortunately if the symbol check doesn't generate any warnings, then the database is not modified and hence the save trigger is not fired.

You should contact customer support and request that a duplicate of the CCR mentioned in the article is filed on your behalf.
