What is the most efficient way to store large chunks of waveforms in human-readable from?

Dear Community

I sometimes do post-processing of simulation data in other tools. To do so, I need to export the data from Virtuoso, which can be very slow as I noted. To give an example, I am currently running a 256 parameter sweep if a design having 512 copies of the same instance, yielding a total of 131'072 waveforms. Just opening the VIVA form literally takes hours; exporting them to a .csv file takes many more hours. The final file is about 700MB (not that much actually if you ask me).

At first glance, I thought this is an overhead from having network drives or so. So I retried and made sure that anything is stored locally, but that didn't change anything. Therefore, I was wondering if there are more efficient ways to export the simulation data (with a script, another format, etc.).

Ideally, the data is exported in a human-readable form, e.g. csv files, but it could also be an easy to decode binary format.
