Cadence License Error (DB-320001)

Hi everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I am currently encountering an issue while attempting to launch the Cadence application on the school Linux machine. The error message I'm receiving is as follows:

```
ERROR (DB-320001): Failed to launch the application because the license required to initialize Virtuoso Framework is not available. Ensure that the environment variables are set correctly and that the license server is up and has the required licenses available.
```

I obtained a new license key from the school team. However, given the limited access on the school Linux machine (restricted to my own folder), I am facing challenges in locating the license file and renewing it.

what steps should I follow to update the license file with the new license key?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards.

    If you are in the Europractice scheme (typically European Universities) then you should contact Europractice; for other Universities you should get your lead contact at the University to contact customer support. In case of doubt, use this page: https://www.cadence.com/en_US/home/company/cadence-academic-network/contact-us.html.html

    Also, I think you must be using an old version based on the error message you are getting - even then I didn't manage to find a version that quite reported the license failure in that exact way when I ran "virtuoso".

    Thanks for the assistance! I'll get in touch with the customer support. And you are correct that I'm currently using an older version of Virtuoso (6.1.8).

    6.1.8 isn't too old (it's still a currently supported version), but maybe the messaging changed at some point (I didn't do an exhaustive check).
