Setting a routing only master instance transparent

JtiendraS
JtiendraS over 1 year ago

I have a routing only cell which is repeatedly used in multiple hierarchies. Is there anyway I can set the master instance transparent, which when instantiated in different levels take binding names present at instantiated level similar to a group copied.

Sync group works only at 1 hierarchy.

Thanks,

Jitendra S.

    Jitendra,

If you have a routing only cell, this doesn't necessarily need to be a transparent instance. You could open the routing cellView, and do File→Properties and add two properties:

    Property Type Value
    extractToLevel int 1
    ignore boolean t

This means that the extractor will ignore it as a separate instance, and also extract the contents so that the shapes within it would be seen as interconnect.

That said, Rob's suggestion to make it a transparent instance is probably the way I'd choose to do this.
