Exporting GDS with groups intact layout

Hello,

I exported a GDS from Cadence which has 2 groups and I imported in Synopsys and to my amaze in the Synopsys does not show the groups (the pcells are not flat, so only the groups vanished)

My goal is to keep the group INTACT while exporting the GDS from Cadence and Importing in Synopsys, is there a way?

output of exporting:

I'm not sure why you're amazed, because the stream format is rather elderly and doesn't have any record types to store group information, so information like this doesn't get written into the stream file. The focus is on physical geometries, and not much in the way of higher level data is stored.
